My reaction to the video was what I expected. Morrie seemed very smart and like a very nice man. I was caught off guard a little bit when he made his openning remark to Ted, saying "You are a narcissist". It made him seem a little mean but towards the end of the interview I felt like I really got to know him and no longer found him abrasive. The interview saddened me in a way. To see such an honest, bright man that is aware his is about to die makes me sad.
Seeing this interview helps me with reading the book. I had an idea of Morrie, like Alfred from the early Batman movies, but to know how he really looks gives me a great visual. I really like this book, it is one of those books that I don't want to stop reading.
Even at the advanced state of Morrie's age and the progression of the disease, he is delightful and cheery, and, as you point out here, still funny. For someone to deal with what he has had to deal with and for him to come out on the other side with the power of his message and the uplifting personal character that he becomes is astounding.
